What ages do you teach?
Maria’s Art Lessons works with kids ages 5 to 18. Lessons and projects are tailored to each child’s age, skill level, and interests — beginners are always welcome.
Where do you teach? Do I have to come to a studio?
Maria’s Art Lessons is a mobile service. Maria comes to your home, school, or party venue with all of the supplies and instruction needed. There is no studio to drive to.
Do you offer online lessons?
Yes — Maria offers art lessons over Zoom for kids who prefer to learn from home, are outside the Miami-Dade service area, or have a schedule that works better with virtual classes. Call (305) 771-0595 for details on supplies needed and scheduling.
What areas do you serve in person?
For in-person lessons and parties, we serve all of Miami-Dade County, Florida — including Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Pinecrest, Doral, Kendall, Cutler Bay, Palmetto Bay, Homestead, South Miami, The Hammocks, and West Kendall. Anywhere else, Zoom lessons are available.
Do you offer painting parties?
Yes — painting parties are one of our most popular services. We bring everything needed for birthdays, scout troops, after-school groups, and family events: easels, canvases, paints, brushes, smocks, and step-by-step guidance for a fun themed painting everyone takes home.
What art supplies are included?
For in-person lessons and parties, Maria brings everything needed — paints, brushes, canvases or paper, smocks, palettes, and reference materials. For Zoom lessons, families provide a basic supply list shared in advance.
What types of art do you teach?
Lessons cover acrylic painting, watercolor, drawing, and mixed media. Each session is built around your child’s interests and skill level, so beginners and more experienced young artists both get exactly what they need.
Does my child need any prior art experience?
No. Most of our students start as complete beginners. Maria’s approach is to nurture each child’s individual creativity in a relaxed, supportive setting where there’s no such thing as a wrong answer.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes — Maria teaches in both English and Spanish.

How far in advance should I book?
For ongoing weekly lessons, a week or two ahead lets you pick the time slot that works best for your family. Painting parties typically book 2–4 weeks in advance, especially for weekend dates.
Can you teach groups of kids together?
Yes. Maria teaches solo lessons, sibling pairs, small groups of friends, and full party groups. Group lessons are a great way to share the experience — and split the cost.
